Abstract parabolic problem with non-Lipschitz nonlinearity

88%
EN
An abstract parabolic equation with sectorial operator and continuous nonlinearity is studied in this paper. In particular, the asymptotic behavior of solutions is described within the framework of the theory of global attractors. Examples included in the final part of the paper illustrate the presented ideas.

Our aim in this paper is to study the long time behavior of a class of doubly nonlinear parabolic equations. In particular, we prove the existence of the global attractor which has, in one and two space dimensions, finite fractal dimension.

Global φ-attractor for a modified 3D Bénard system on channel-like domains

EN
In this paper we prove the existence of a global φ-attractor in the weak topology of the natural phase space for the family of multi-valued processes generated by solutions of a nonautonomous modified 3D Bénard system in unbounded domains for which Poincaré inequality takes place.

We give a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of an exponential attractor. The condition is formulated in the context of metric spaces. It also captures the quantitative properties of the attractor, i.e., the dimension and the rate of attraction. As an application, we show that the evolution operator for the wave equation with nonlinear damping has an exponential attractor.
