This paper presents the development of the didactics of geography at the Department of Geography, Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana from its beginnings in the 19th century up to the present day. Important milestones are discussed and the present situation described. The author first discusses how different approaches were developed over the years, then focuses on the current situation through the presentation of some selected ways of educating, equipping and developing a good (future) geography teacher.

In the article, high value of tourism offer included in some programs of Erasmus/Erasmus+ for employees of higher education facilities, mostly in programs of organized forms of exchange, i.e. International Staff Week, is emphasized. Basing on acquired materials and author’s own observations during multiple participation in foreign exchange, as well as on recollections of other participants, it can be concluded that this element of programs alone is a an equivalent of the benefits connected to the other elements of programs offered to participants by foreign facilities. Tourist programs usually allow to get to know the cities where educational facilities are located, as well as their close or far surroundings, where culturally unique objects are located. Among the described ones, the most interesting tourist offers are the ones proposed by Portuguese and Czech educational facilities, for both organized groups and participants arriving on exchange individually. Even partial payment for those offers does not discourage potential participants, and they are evaluated highly. They are also a form of integration of participants on every trip, and most of all, they create a chance of getting to know the tourist qualities of visited regions. It is even more beneficial, since during the sightseeing the aspects connected to the problems professionally interesting to the participants are emphasized, and trips are led by the representatives of local educational facilities.

W artykule podkreśla się dużą wartość oferty turystycznej zawartej w części programów Erasmus/Erasmus+ w odniesieniu do pracowników uczelni, przede wszystkim w programach zorganizowanych form wymiany, tj. Międzynarodowego Tygodnia Szkoleniowego (International Staff Week). W oparciu o zebrane materiały i autorskie obserwacje poczynione podczas wielokrotnego udziału w wymianie zagranicznej, a także z relacji innych uczestników takich wymian, można stwierdzić, że ten element programów stanowi równowartość korzyści w stosunku do pozostałych elementów składowych całości programów oferowanych beneficjentom przez ośrodki zagraniczne. Programy turystyczne obejmują zwykle poznawanie miast, w których uczelnie się znajdują, oraz ich bliskich lub dalszych okolic, w których są obiekty atrakcyjne krajobrazowo lub kulturowo. Spośród opisywanych programów, szczególnie interesujące są oferty turystyczne proponowane przez uczelnie portugalskie i czeskie (tab. 1, tab. 2), tak dla grup zorganizowanych, jak i uczestników indywidualnie przyjeżdżających na wymianę. Nawet częściowa odpłatność tych ofert nie zraża beneficjentów i są one oceniane bardzo wysoko. Są także formą integracji uczestników na każdym wyjeździe, a przede wszystkim szansą poznania walorów turystycznych regionów zwiedzanych. Jest to tym bardziej wartościowe, że podczas zwiedzania podkreśla się aspekty związane tematycznie z problematyką interesującą zawodowo uczestników, a wycieczki są prowadzone przez przedstawicieli miejscowych uczelni.
